Why Politicians Order Police to Stand Down

We continue to see police standing down in the face of violent protests, riots, and allowing free and lawful speech suppressed in the Trump era.  One wonders, how can that be?  One might have assumed the Trump administration would create a climate supportive of law enforcement, rule of law, and equal justice.  How many times did we hear Trump say: “We’ve-got-your-back” to the brave men and women in blue?  With former President Obama’s hands safely off the levers of government, we expected a return to the Bill of Rights.  President Trump was supposed to support police who were otherwise too afraid to act for fear of political retaliation.

As a constitutional conservative, I do not want Trump to exert pressure on local governments. I don’t want the Trump administration forcing ideological conformity on police departments as Obama was doing.  I have no reason to believe Trump is exerting pressure on local governments.

The problem with law enforcement is NOT Trump. And the problem is NOT police.

The problem is Leftist politicians. In this case, local Leftist politicians such as commissioners, mayors, city councils, and governors.

Here are the THREE reasons why Leftist local politicians are ordering police to stand down in the face of violent protests/counter-protests, riots, suppression of free speech, and hindering access to lawful political rallies. (I was a kooky Leftist for years before seeing the light of liberty.)

ONE: LIBERAL PARENT SYNDROME

Leftist politicians see themselves as doting parents of the populace. That’s correct: if you are not a politician, you are a child to Leftist politicians.  Patronizing, I know.  You’ve seen liberal parents.  They’re permissive; afraid to set boundaries and limitations on their children’s behavior for fear their children won’t like them or it will limit their children’s potential.  Their kids rarely suffer consequences for misbehaving.   These parents sooner send their kids to a psychologists than spank, punish, ground, or reprimand them.

These are the parents who aren’t really parents at all. They want their son’s and daughter’s to think of them as a friend, not a parent.  These parents strive to be the “cool” mom or dad.  As parents, their greatest fear is hearing “I hate you!” from their child;  similarly, as politician, their greatest fear is hearing “You’re a racist!” from the populace.  They cannot uphold the law equally for fear of being called a racist, sexists, or homophobe.  They bemoan, “My children will hate me!”  Hence, the law is not upheld equally.

These parents are the participation-trophy parents who are scared to death that instances of failure weaken a child psychologically rather than challenge youngsters to greater accomplishment.

TWO: YOU CAN’T TRUST ANYONE OVER 30

This is an old saw from the 60s. You can’t trust anyone over 30 because by thirty years of age political ideals have been tainted by “the man.”  It’s a cry against authority—any authority.  Authority is tricky for Leftists to navigate.  They simultaneous despise it, while they need it.  YOU can’t be trusted with authority; only THEY can be trusted with authority.

The Left needs authority— consolidated centralized control of government—in order to accomplish their goals.  Which you’ll LOVE, once we get to utopia, they promise.

So, the Left loves and hates authority. Many Leftist feel so much hatred for authority they, like the Liberal Parents, loathe to use it—even to quell politically-charged violence.  Anarchist spring from this well, but theirs is more a case of rebellion against a childhood of abuse, I suspect.

Violence is born of the Left. Quelling it just doesn’t give Leftists that groovy feeling.

THREE: BURN AMERICA TO THE GROUND

This is where we get to the extreme. Unfortunately, this is common among Leftists in America, even among local politicians.  They hate America for which it stands.  They see America as a slave-owning, imperialistic, carbon-spewing, insensitive lot of money-grubbing corporations polluting and destroying the world with its self-indulgence.  The sooner America is burned to the ground, the better!  Better for the world and better for everyone.

America is atrocious, so let the atrocities feed on America. Let the monster devour itself.  Let looters loot.  America has it coming to her.  Like the reverend cheered, America’s chickens are coming home to roost.

Generally haters on the Left, particularly local politicians, are simply ignorant of historical facts or dishonest with themselves. Or both.

Nothing Burger—I’m Lovin’ It!

I hope the Left keeps pushing their ridiculous claim Trump colluded with the Russians to steal the 2016 presidential election from Hillary Clinton. This is fantastic!

Personally, the “collusion” story that is saturating the media bores me to tears, but I hope it goes on and on and on right through the next election. I genuinely hope the Left pushes this “nothing burger” until they bleed out.  The Left is shooting themselves in the political foot and they don’t even know it!  It’s hilarious.

I can’t say I’m a big Trump fan. Ted Cruz was my pick for constitutional conservative.  However, there are unique aspects about Trump that are very attractive.  Primarily, he LOVES America; like him or hate him, at least he loves the country.  He adores our military and law enforcement.  Trump is a political outsider who challenges the entrenched Washington establishment.  He appreciates capitalism—that’s refreshing!  And he calls out the Leftist media for their hypocrisy.  That said, let’s move on.

Yes, to Articles of Impeachment against Trump!

Yes, to charges of treason against Trump’s son, Donald Trump, Jr.!

I say, let the Left’s self-destruction continue unabated.

With each passing day, the Left is solidifying Trump’s base, turning-off working-class Democrat voters, disenchanting younger voters, and exposing themselves for unprofessional, emotionally immature, intellectually shallow, entitled, demagoguing , hypocrites they truly are.

The best part is, they—the Left—don’t even see it.  It’s a work of art!

And here’s the cherry on top: Whenever the Left is pointing a finger at you, you can bet your house that the Left is the one guilty of the crime.  Works like a charm.  It’s as predictable as the law of gravity.  It’s just a matter of time before the truth comes out and exposes the Left’s collusion with Russia.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy that nothing burger.

In the end, will all this destroy the Left?  No.

But, it’s beautiful really, watching liars out themselves. It’s . . . poetic.

On a personal note. Thanks to all the readers and Subscribers!  You’ve been very patient with me.  I have my hands full with school as I’m career changing.  Also, the fiction novel is coming along.  My first.  I’m learning a ton.  It probably sucks, and it’s taking forever, but at least I’m finally chasing down my life-long dream of writing fiction!

What to Make of Trump’s Syrian Air Strike

The title of this article “What to Make of Trump’s Syrian Air Strike” is appropriate, and should give constitutional conservatives pause. “Trump’s …Air Strike”?  One man’s air strike?  Shouldn’t it be U.S. Air Strike?  Isn’t that how it feels though—like the

090429-N-4879G-349 ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 29, 2009) A Harpoon missile is launched from the guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) during the sinking exercise portion of UNITAS Gold. This year marks the 50th iteration of UNITAS, a multinational exercise that provides opportunities for participating nations to increase their collective ability counter illicit maritime activities that threaten regional stability. Participating countries are Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Mexico, Peru, U.S. and Uruguay. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Patrick Grieco/Released)

president is going it alone without a Declaration of War (U.S. Constitution, 1789) or a War Powers Authorization (federal law, 1973).

(I appreciate my reader’s [edit: readers’. That’s hilarious] patience. I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been up to my eyeballs in homework in grad school.)

Thursday, April 6th (EST), the U.S. Navy launched 59 Tomahawk missiles striking a Syrian air base in western Syria.  The missile strike came on the heels of a report Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, launched a sarin-gas air strike against a neighborhood killing young children.

Yes, yes, I know the 1973 War Powers Act gives the president the prerogative to use immediate military force without a Declaration of War or congressional Authorization. But, this immediate prerogative can ONLY be used if there is an “attack on the U.S., territories, possessions, or armed forces.”

This is not an article about Declarations of War violations, nor is it a claim Al-Queda-backed rebels were to blame for the sarin-gas attack.  Though both are addressed.  This is not a false-flag article.

Those of us out here in the real world simply do not have the intel to determine who launched the horrific gas attack that prompted Trump’s response.

Here are my concerns, not in any particular order:

Who has more to gain in launching the sarin gas attack on innocent Syrians, Syria or the Syrian rebels (i.e. al-Queda)? Answer:  Syrian rebels.  The rebels have been dogged by Syrian and Russian air strikes, begging the U.S. to get involved and destroy Syria’s air force.  Syria does not benefit from purposely or accidentally gassing innocent Syrians (though I don’t discount the possibility there were other reasons Syria may have bombed this neighborhood).  To date, there is no publically available evidence to cast blame.

Senators John McCain and Graham are thrilled about this U.S. air strike. I rarely, if ever, agree with these misguided Progressive Republicans.  So, I’m automatically inclined to think I should disapprove of the U.S. air strike.  If the Leftist media supports it (the air strikes), I’m definitely suspicious.

There is a stink of politics in the air—China’s visit, Democrats and Leftist media hammering away at this ridiculous narrative Trump is in bed with Putin, North Korean tensions building.

Is President Trump so emotionally sensitive that a few horrifying images of sarin-gas victims move him to risk a larger war without congressional authorization? I too have a weak stomach for children suffering, but Americans expect their president to hold it together and act with prudence in the face of human suffering. This kind of human suffering goes on daily since time immemorial.

Finally, about the president (any U.S. president) using military force when we have not been attacked directly. The president simply does NOT have the authority to go around the world committing unprovoked U.S. military strikes be they large significant missions or “targeted,” “surgical,” or “one-offs.” He just doesn’t.  This is how wars are started.

Our Founding Fathers were scared to death a president would draw us into a larger war by committing our military via smaller provocative strikes. That’s just a fact.  If we want to change the Constitution in that regard, then someone needs to propose an amendment to the Constitution.

I rarely disagree with Mark Levin. Mr. Levin has been quick to support Trump’s decision to strike the Syrian air base.   Even if Syria’s air force is to blame for the sarin gas attack (a distinct possibility), I cannot condone a U.S. air strike that ignores the rule of law.  Are we condoning the rule of men now?

I am far more concerned about North Korea and Iran’s nuclear programs than I am Syria’s awful civil war. Why?  Nukes.  North Korea and Iran pose a direct threat to the U.S.  Yeah, it’s easier to launch a handful of Tomahawks at a crumbling regime than to man-up and face real threats like North Korea where many thousands of U.S. service men and women may die.  There’s a lot of complicated heavy lifting to be done about North Korea and Iran; that’s a real leader’s conflict—with millions of American civilian lives hanging in the balance.

I support Trump. And I like thumping the bad guys as much as anyone.  But let’s try to get through this current administration with the rule of law and U.S. Constitution intact, shall we.  That’s what is at stake here—that’s what’s always at stake!  Do we trade away the U.S. Constitution for momentary bravado?  Not this patriot.

Trump’s Inauguration Promise Dance

I just watched all three inauguration balls on Fox News, ending with the Armed Services Ball.  I didn’t have plans to write an article this evening, but after watching the Armed Services Ball’s “First Dance” I had to write my reaction. If you did not see this First Dance, you must!  It moved me deeply and unexpectedly.

I knew there were plans for uniformed soldiers to “cut in” and dance with the First Couple, the First Family, and the Pence’s. A beautiful young woman soldier whose hair was pulled into a bun danced with President Trump, and a broad shouldered young man danced with our First Lady, Melania.

I thought it was a cute idea initially. Maybe too cute, but I’ll watch. I watched.  As the song, “I Will Always Love You,” was sung to low key music, the scene and the feeling changed; it was changing slowly into something very special.  And I watched closer.

I watched how President Trump handled and danced with his uniformed partner. It was beautiful like watching a father with his daughter at a wedding reception.  He was gentle and powerful, and all the while conscious of his partner’s honor and beauty. I watched Melania and her uniformed partner dance, imagining the young man’s awkwardness.  Melania and her partner danced further apart, more formal and ceremonious by contrast.  Then I went back to watching Trump.  That’s when it happened…

I had this overwhelming feeling our armed service men and women are cared for again. That, if Trump fails all promises but one, this is the ONE promise he will not fail.  It was in his dance.  Watch his dance.  Watch how he dances with that service woman.  And tell me a father wouldn’t do anything for his daughter.  No holds barred.
